Gryffin saw a brilliant flash from the corner of his eye.
The eladrin cleric had succesfully launched a spell but missed it's mark. The cleric however managed to move near loyd and heal him.
Lloyd did a flourish that hit the tough looking goblin, inflicting a deep wound.
The goblin was spattered with it's own blood.
Gryffin relaxed a bit, thinking they were at least getting the upper hand. Still, he had to get to Volioker in the alley.
Gryffin heard the goblin give a snarl followed by a wet sound as it's axe went through Lloyd. And the warlord fell - bloodied for the second time.
Gryffin could feel his blood rush through his pointy ears. Lloyd had just fallen - the second time today and before that, Volioker. All he could think of - should think of - was to get to his adopted father and make sure he would survive. Lloyd had already survived today and the cleric was near him. His father was alone in an alley. But would Lloyd - his friend - be lucky a second time...
The Goblin moved toward Gryffin, madness in its eyes.
And Gryffin realized as his mind went through pages of books.
"It's a Skullcleaver..."
And his heart went numb a second time today.
Gryffin pushed the fear out of his mind. He wanted to stay and fight with his friends. The Skullcleaver was badly wounded. It had to be to power its rage. One good shot should take it down; but all he could muster to aid his comrades was to shout.
"Scatter! It's stronger when wounded...a...$#!t I don't have time for this! (Poof!)"
