Jarek: Into the Jaws of Darkness, End Round

The entire corridor fell silent as soon as we defeated the sinspawns. I fell down on my knees, exhausted from the battle and the adrenalin rush. What's going on with this town? Why are we being attacked by goblins and strange creatures? Has Tsuto got something to do with this?

"Jarek!"

Lloyd's voice echoed through the tunnel. "Come here and help us!"

Stupid half elf, the woodsman muttered. Ever since the sheriff left, Lloyd has become a pain in the butt. He thinks he is better than everyone else, ordering people around like his slaves.

"Help the priest with Arao," Lloyd continued. "I think the paladin's lost a lot of blood."

Trust a warlord to make such profound medical conclusions. I looked over and saw Guy applying some herbs to the dragon-born's injuries. I brought out a couple of bandages from my bag and helped the priest clean the wounds.

"Be careful with the wound," Guy cautioned me. "Make sure you clean it up properly. We don't want him to get infected."

"Yes, I know what I'm doing," I answered back. "I learned this from Shalelu."

Even the priest sounds like a condescending pain in the buttocks. I shouldn't have agreed to come down here. This was all a bad idea. But then none of them would think of turning back. I think Tsuto has all the answers, and it's better to wait till he regains consciousness and ask him.

I quickly wrapped the bandages on Arao and picked up the paladin's sun rod.

Lloyd was calling out for me again, asking me to help Gryffin examine the dead sinspawns but I pretended not to hear.

I raised the sunrod and examined the sinspawns' lair, checking for any clues that might be useful. I entered the small cavern and noticed several usual rock formations. Could these creatures be responsible for digging these tunnels?

After a while, I returned to my companions. I saw the eladrin priest in a trance, muttering some elvish prayer in front of two burning candles.

"What are you doing?" I asked jokingly. "This is no time to make camp fires."

"Shut up, Jarek!" Lloyd muttered. The half elf was watching the priest intently. "He is performing a sacred rite."

"Oh sorry for disturbing your santified ceremony," I answered sarcastically, making a face
