Orik/Yeth Hounds: The Chapel, Round 01

Just as soon as Orik stated to step towards the chapel’s entrance, he saw Lloyd get pushed back towards the doors by one of the wizard’s spell. He wanted to rush forward and help the half-elf when a sudden burst of electrical energy hit him. The mercenary was caught unaware and thus absorbed the brunt of the attack. The attack made it difficult to control his movement but he eventually steeled himself and managed to move towards Lloyd.

“You alright?” Orik asked just as Lloyd swatted away Tsuto’s arrows.

“Yeah am..” Lloyd was about to answer but cut himself off as he saw the burnt marks covering right side of the man beside him.

“You’re hurt!” The half-elf gasped; genuine concern evident in his voice.

“I’ll be okay.” Orik laughed, glad to have received such a reaction.

“I’ll take them. Find some cover and wait for the rest of your party to arrive.”

Without waiting for confirmation, the armored fighter picked up his shield and sword and made his way towards the chapel stairs waiting for their enemies to reach him.

The yeth hounds detected the arrival of the party long before they opened the chapel doors. It could have been their preternatural senses or their outsider nature but they were already tense and ready for attack by the time the first of the intruders were moving into the chapel.

They pack attacked as one and their chosen targets were the armored man and the female standing by the top of the stairs.

The lead canine got a powerful bastard sword swing as its reward. Orik swung his sword as soon as the hound was within range and managed to cleave the creature in two. He likewise managed to block the charge of the second one with his shield.

The third got past him though and jumped on Rhonna. The force of the charge enabled the hound to get past her defenses and allowed it to sink its teeth into one of the girl’s legs eliciting a cry from the latter.
