The goblin which was facing off with Jarek (and is now surrounded by the paladin and the clerical eladrin) continues it attack. It take the goblin a while at it stares at the towering form of the dragonborn. It then lets out a laugh and a shout before it stabs at its new opponent with its spear. It manages to hit Arao’s shoulder.
The other goblin hears its cohort’s shout and moves to likewise partake in the fun. It runs towards the fortune telling table (not mindful of the shards of the shattered crystal ball on the ground) and from this position pulls out another javelin and takes its own shot at the imposing dragonborn which likewise hits the same previously hit shoulder.
Goblins have not much use of magic, preferring the use of scavenged materials to create weapons which they could easily wield in their raids and in combat. Thus when the eladrin wizard unleashed the first wave of thunder both goblins which were surprised at the powerlessness of the spell. However, when the second wave hit they were terrified and decided to run, scrabbling over the pile of carpets to get away. But not without throwing their javelins at their new attacker.
Goblin rolls:
ReplyDeleteSpear attack vs Arao
Attack roll: 1d20+6 → [20,6] = ( 26)
Damage roll: 1d8+2 → [1,2] = ( 3)
Javelin attack vs Arao
Attack roll: 1d20+6 → [13,6] = ( 19)
Damage roll: 1d6+2 → [2,2] = ( 4)
Greater position damage roll: 1d6 → [2] = ( 2)
Learning Curve:
ReplyDeleteLloyd used Viper's strike last round hoping to give an ally an OA when the goblins shift. OA, however, happens only for a melee basic attack. Without an adjacent ally the maneuver doesn't function.
Guy's turn is next
ReplyDeleteForgot these, Goblin mobile range attack rolls vs Lloyd vs AC 17
ReplyDelete1d20+6 → [5,6] = ( 11)
1d20+6 → [6,6] = ( 12)
1) wasn't the spear attack on arao a critical?
ReplyDelete2) did the goblin warrior at the back (attacking lloyd) just move 7 (seven) squares?
3) shift is a move action, after which you can't move anymore. the goblin can't substitute either coz he attacked. unless it's some kind of power, u can't have a normal shift+attack+move maneuver.
Wow! That is a critical attack roll. Do give arao 7 additional points of damage.
ReplyDeleteThe goblin warrior actually moved 9squares. The goblin warrior has a special ability called mobile ranged attack (as shown in the map) which allows them to move half their speed (3 squares) and do a basic range attack as its standard action. It then used its move action to move 6 squares (two of them in difficult terrain (while scrambling over the carpets)).
Same with the other goblin warrior which shifted as its move action and then used mobile ranged attack as its standard action.
ReplyDeleteJust to be complete, both the goblins used their minor actions to draw the javelins they threw at Lloyd.
darn it. who gave those fr**king goblins wheels?
